fairy, fairy

project description, credits,,,,,

"FAIRY, FAIRY. Archives from f***ball" is a morphing choreographic solo, whose research began in 2023 as part of an individual diploma at PERA School of Performing Arts. It summons the dead, revives conflict. Kicks the ball, digs into retrospection, and (un)?buries a neighborhood dispute. Because who really needs national identity when there’s only one ball and the fields have no borders?

Let’s lift the green linoleum, roll out the ballet grass and travel back to Poland 2012. I was terribly hyperactive back then. Together we will spy on my less hyperactive, older neighbor. Let’s aim for the absurdity of everyday life, where simple backyard scuffles escalate into micro-conflicts with political ambitions. By exploring the physical and emotional consequences of a restless relationship we will dig into the roots of social conflicts in Poland. Poland then and now feels sad. Let’s kick the ball around and figure out if we really have to get so "p***ed off", after all all Poles are one family, older or younger, boy or girl.

Silent observers, post-spectators, let’s rise from the stands and open up the stadiums. Sometimes all it takes is a smile, a gesture of reaching for the same ball, to momentarily blur boundaries and remind ourselves that everything that divides us can also be a way to play together. Foolish and self-ironic, we will show a white card to state aggression. Dissidents in cleats against the color red. And against penalty shots, because how can you shoot toward another human being?

This is a queer hooligan imaginary drawing from childhood dreams. Here playing ball together becomes an attempt to rewrite the rules of the game, searching for a different kind of community, one that is not built on national sentiments but rather on fleeting alliances and chance encounters. On the left chest instead of an eagle a nipple, and beneath it a hidden heart. We want to open up chests with love, not let them be opened by strangers anymore in the name of an eagle that flew away long ago.
