japi
project description, credits,,,,,
The performance addresses the theme of the ideal man, exploring both the well-known alpha male and the contemporary, enigmatic sigma male. The title "JAPI" refers to the social category of yuppies that emerged in the 1980s in the USA, whose representatives became role models for many young careerists worldwide, as well as its clumsy Polish counterpart, the so-called "japiszoni."
The protagonists of the performance are five men driven by the pursuit of success and social prestige, enslaved by an obsession with lifestyle, a love for high material status and luxury, and a constant need to create the perfect version of themselves.
"JAPI" is the latest performance by Carrodunum Dance Company, a dance ensemble operating under the auspices of Teatr Nowy Proxima. It is an intense, movement-based, musical, and visual spectacle showcasing the exceptional and professional artistry of dance performers.
